For those installations where the carpet will only be in situ for a short period of time, it’s possible to join the carpet with either a double-sided carpet tape such as NEC tape or more permanent versions or a similar nature. It is also possible to wax seam the joins together – for instances where you are laying onto a carpet Foxi underlay can be used to stop the carpet creeping .
We would recommend the floor is lined with ‘System 10’ underlay, cross laid across to follow at 90 degrees to the direction of the laying of the carpet. Using the image prepared by our design team for the final appearance of the room, we then lay carpet out to match the pattern side by side. The next step is to peel back the carpet and glue direct onto the underlay, as shown in the series of images below:
